The Ministry of Art

Just like music minsters to the Lord and is an act of intercession, so is the visual arts. I paint now at our Encounter God Services at ZHOP right along with the singers. I believe that God is raising up the church to minister to him in all different kinds of ways, whether that be through painting, music, dance, or countless of other ways. I particular like the area of the visual arts, for it not only blesses God and believers, but art gives opens a door to share the gospel with many people would not otherwise be receptive to a traditional teaching. I have been able to speak to many unbelievers about Christ, whether that be at Wal-mart, or in coffee shops using the arts.

"Revived" Painting

Hosea 6:1-3
Come, and let us return to the LORD;
For He has torn, but He will heal us;
He has stricken, but He will bind us up.
After two days He will revive us;
On the third day He will raise us up,
That we may live in His sight.
Let us know,
Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD.
His going forth is established as the morning;
He will come to us like the rain, (or a rainbow ;)
Like the latter and former rain to the earth.

Ministry in Davidson

We did some ministry this weekend at River’s Edge Church in Davidson NC. One of our ZHOP bands played, Kirk spoke, and I worshiped with my art for their service. The service was full of young adults that were hungry and thirsty for encounter with Christ. The worship was powerful, and Kirk's teaching on prayer blew us all away. It was a great time of encouraging the body of Christ, and sharing, through worship, how great our God is. Not only were others touched, but I was touched as well. As I stood by the front stage, ministering to the Lord through color, I could feel the delight of God over myself, and the young adults. There was a unity in the room.. a common desire for God, and with one heart we expressed our love for Christ whether by music, art, or dance.
